It began beside a spreadsheet
CiviTrac was built inside an electric utility, against one owner's slate of transmission and substation projects, for a project manager who had the tool open from half past seven to half past four and still kept a spreadsheet beside it. The measure of the product is when that spreadsheet closes: a PM who trusts the screen, and a director who can ask for a report and get one.
Since September 2026 it is built for infrastructure owners of every kind. Anything that assumed one utility, from numbering schemes to the names of its finance systems, is now configuration.

Never show a figure without saying where it came from and when.
Health is derived, explained and reproducible; the driver is always visible next to the colour.
The PM's daily screen outranks the executive's occasional one; the executive read is built from the same data, never a second truth.
Connectors over migrations: CiviTrac sits over the systems of record and says which one each fact came from.
